/ About the project
COUTEAU MUSIC HOUSE is a Montréal-based boutique publishing and sync licensing company.Couteau means “knife” in French, a central concept for the identity of the company. Couteau Music House strives to be cutting edge, with focus on slicing through different music “to get to the good stuff.”
The complete project included a company re-brand and logo design, web and social asset design, as well as video pieces for promotional uses. The re-brand focused on capturing the essence of artists such as Tame Impala and Tyler the Creator, as well as music from the 1970s — blending the client’s favourite musical inspirations with psychedelic visuals.
The logo icon is an “M” and an “H” to represent Music House, stacked in a bold circle. The circle is “cut” in half to create a “C”, to represent the company name Couteau and its defining cutting-edge identity.
